Dr. Bachirou Guene Lougou

Dr. Bachirou Guene Lougou, originally from Benin, earned his Ph.D. in Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics from the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) in 2018. Currently an Associate Professor in the School of Energy Science and Engineering at HIT, he is engaged in research on solar thermal chemistry utilization technology. Dr. Lougou has pioneered experimental teaching work in solar innovation, contributed to undergraduate courses, and received awards including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Chinese Postdoctoral Science Foundation, and Fundamental Research Funds for Central Universities. With over 30 SCI-EI papers published in international journals, he also serves as President of the Alumni Association for International Students, contributing supplies to HIT and expressing dedication to its continued development.

 

 

Dr. Peng Wang

Peng Wang is the Deputy Director of the Energy Strategy and Carbon Asset Research Center, Guangzhou Institute of

Energy Conversion, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and doctoral supervisor of University of Science and Technology of China. He is engaged in research on energy modeling for technology foresight, low-carbon energy planning, smart energy system simulation, climate investment and financing, and carbon market. In recent years, he has presided over more than 40 projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province, the Science and Technology Program of Guangdong Province, the cooperation between the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the sub-project of the Ministry of Science and  Technology, Sino-British international cooperation, and Sino-US international cooperation. He has published papers in Chinese and English journals such as Applied Energy, Energy, Energy Policy, and Energy for Sustainable Development 40 articles, 10 copyrights and patents for energy models and smart energy software, 3 standards and industry guidelines, and 10 research reports, among which the "Medium and Long-term Energy Transition Scenario in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area" and "The Development of Power Equipment Industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area" have been approved by provincial leaders, and have long carried out energy and dual-carbon business consulting for large state-owned enterprises such as China Southern Power Grid, Guangdong Energy Group, and China General Nuclear Power Corporation.

Ranked among the top 1% of researchers globally in energy research, he has authored over 120 publications, supervised numerous Ph.D., M.Sc., and B.Eng. projects, and delivered more than 50 invited/keynote talks. With academic expertise in electrical, mechanical, and renewable energy engineering, he is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. His research focuses on energy-efficient technologies for buildings, electric vehicles, and renewable energy systems.

 

Dr. Kapal Dev

Dr. Kapal Dev is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at Munster Technological University (MTU), Ireland, with a remarkable academic and research track record. Previously a Senior Researcher at MTU and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Trinity College Dublin's CONNECT Centre, he has also held industry roles at Altran Italia on 5G applications. Dr. Dev completed his Ph.D. at Politecnico di Milano under an Erasmus Mundus fellowship, earning accolades such as the IEEE ComSoc EMEA Outstanding Young Researcher award and the Tom Brazil Excellence in Research Award. With over 80 publications, his research covers wireless communication networks, blockchain, and AI, contributing to several Horizon Europe and H2020 projects. Dr. Shafiq Odhano

Dr. Shafiq Odhano earned his M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and Ph.D. in Power Electronics, Machines, and Drives from the Politecnico di Torino, Italy. He has held positions as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Politecnico di Torino and as a Research Fellow at the University of Nottingham, UK. Currently a lecturer in electric drives at Newcastle University, his research interests include high-performance control of electric drives, fault-tolerant control of multiphase motors and drives, and self-commissioning of AC motor drives.
